Review Motorcycle Daily

Japanese manufacturers didn’t quite focused on producing 250cc sportbikes these last years, Kawasaki remaining the only bike builder with such a motorcycle on sale today for the U.S. market. The smart choice was to keep producing and yet improving this icon, and this way it managed to dominate the American market at the given category.

By using a perfect combination of rider-friendly engine, easy to operate chassis, and modern design, this Ninja is a true companion on your road towards bigger motorcycles, like the ZX-6R and ZX-10R.

Riders who are willing to be initiated in the wonderful world of motorcycling and prefer a sportier ride are most likely to jump on the Kawasaki Ninja 250R so it is best to know what to expect. I certainly did. I found myself facing an engine that thrives on high-rpm excitement.

Paul Foster's 180bhp, WSBK-replica Kawasaki ZX-10R

Fancy an orange-and-black, 180bhp ZX-10R? We do...

We found Paul Foster’s 2006 WSBK-replica Kawasaki ZX-10R on London Bikers, and we think the bike quite rocks! Apart from the orange-and-black paintjob, Foster’s ZX-10R has been fitted with an Arrow titanium race exhaust system, aftermarket screen and hugger, wavy brake discs from ISR, Maxton suspension (GP25 fork internal cartridge kit and GP7 rear shock), and a top-mount steering damper from GPR.

The bike also has nine-spoke wheels from Talon, Goodridge brake hoses, Avon Viper Xtreme 190/55 tyres, Dynojet Power Commander III + LCD Display and PK-Power quickshifter. And, oh, the Kawasaki engines makes 180bhp (presumably at the rear wheel!) courtesy an engine tune from Team RHR. Yes, yes, we like your bike Mr Foster…!

New Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R 2008 Released

New Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R 2008 Released

Kawasaki has decided to give its ZX-10 R a major upgrade with heavily-modified engine, revised chassis and altered cosmetics.

For the 2008 Kawasaki engineers wanted a highly communicative package that would enhance the two-way dialog between rider and machine that professional racers require to ride at the highest level.

That meant the chassis had to deliver a high level of feedback while being highly responsive to rider input – and all this in stock form. A tall order. But, having worked on every litre- and mid-class supersport model since the 2003 Ninja ZX-6R/6RR, not to mention their direct involvement with Kawasaki’s factory superbike efforts, one the dedicated design and engineering team were in a unique position to deliver.

ULTRA-HIGH FEEDBACK CHASSIS

Chassis updates contribute to improved handling, but the biggest changes revolve around increased feedback to the rider, providing communication essential for riding at the highest level.

RACE-READY ENGINE

To optimise the 10R’s performance for the track, the new engine has been tuned for even greater high-rpm performance without reducing the engine’s impressive low and mid-range torque. In addition, throttle response was improved by installing secondary fuel injectors, using oval throttle bodies and reshaping the intake ports. These changes give the new engine a performance potential very similar to Kawasaki’s factory superbike racing machines, making it essentially a race-ready engine.
