POWER, PERFORMANCE AND LEADING-EDGE DESIGN PUT THE KAWASAKI Z1000 AT THE FRONT OF THE PACK

Whether you refer to them as “naked” bikes or “standard” bikes, the look says it all for these motorcycles that emphasize power, backroad agility, and a certain type of rider individuality. Kawasaki’s Z1000 is no exception to this rule, and rightfully takes its place among the most desired of this breed of “nakedness.”

The Z1000 backs this aggressive, super naked style with an in-line four-cylinder, DOHC 16-valve engine, which produces tractable power for hard acceleration in any rpm range. The lightweight, all-aluminum cylinder block, with chrome composite plated lining for wear resistance and superior heat dispersion are features borrowed from the Kawasaki NINJA® sportbike line.
Digital fuel injection utilizing 38mm throttle bodies and sub-throttle valves promote smooth, responsive engine operation with less fuel consumption. The high-speed 32-bit digital ignition provides precise engine management and enhances the fuel injection system.

Keeping the entire engine cool is a large-area radiator with an electric fan that maintains operating temperatures at the optimum level. Simultaneously, a liquid-cooled oil cooler helps keep the six-speed transmission operating at maximum performance. Part of the Z1000’s allure lies in the four stainless steel mufflers that are heat-treated to an attractive golden color. Enhancing its appeal is the Kawasaki Low Exhaust Emissions (KLEEN®) catalyzer system that helps keep exhaust emissions that flow through the quad mufflers environmentally friendly. In select markets, an additional honeycomb catalyzer system reduces emissions even further.

The Z1000’s engine is mounted in a rigid, yet lightweight diamond frame with thin-walled tubes, which contributes to responsive handling performance. The engine itself is mounted as a stressed member of the frame, adding an unflappable feel to the chassis. Plus, a detachable right front-top engine mount eases maintenance.

At the front of the frame, an inverted fork with 41mm tubes delivers exceptional stability and steering performance. To meet the requirements of different riding conditions, the fork is rebound adjustable. In addition, the fork offset is designed to improve handling and provide a fluid ride.

On the rear, an extruded-aluminum swingarm features a hexagonal structure with ribbing for reduced weight and exceptional rigidity. Attached to the swingarm is Kawasaki’s bottom link UNI-TRAK® system that produces progressive force to the nitrogen gas-charged shock as the suspension is compressed. The shock is equipped with a piggyback reservoir and a rebound damping adjustment.

Contributing to the Z1000’s superb handling characteristics are 17-inch rims and radial tires. The tires offer excellent traction, while the rims look great with a polished finish that contrasts nicely with painted hubs and spokes. Front brakes are dual semi-floating 300mm discs gripped by lightweight four-piston calipers, while the rear brake caliper holder is also designed for low weight and mounts directly to the swingarm.

The seat cowl with LED taillight, swingarm-mounted inner fender and front fender are all designed to give the Z1000 an aggressive, sporty image. The galvanized steel fuel tank is slender and helps create a seating position that is comfortable while allowing the rider to mold to the machine naturally. The bikini cowl with dual, multi-reflector headlights helps to accentuate the bike’s provocative lines.

The bikini-type cowl covers and protects a lightweight, compact instrument cluster featuring a bar-type LCD tachometer and digital LCD speedometer. In addition to a digital temperature gauge, clock, tripmeter and fuel gauge is a comprehensive range of indicator lamps.

2006 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14

KAWASAKI NINJA® ZX™-14 COMBINES THE BEST OF EVERYTHING TO DELIVER SERIOUS MOTORCYCLISTS THAT ELUSIVE “ULTIMATE” RIDE

Sleek aerodynamics, unmatched power, acceleration, and stability combine to provide balance to company’s latest flagship.

If ever a brand of motorcycles was defined by the sheer power emanating from its long history of record-breaking sportbikes,

Kawasaki would hold that mantel. If ever a brand would be expected to rightfully incorporate the meaning of the word “ultimate” into its newest flagship street carver, Kawasaki fits the bill. That’s just what the company has done with the Ninja® ZX™-14, a 1352cc motorcycle that is its most powerful ever, and succeeds in setting the performance standards for others to follow.

Kawasaki engineers and designers have created a motorcycle that turns its Ram Air and fuel-injected engine into the core of a powerful, torque-producing, aerodynamic stunner that will draw attention from onlookers whether on the road, or parked on the roadside. Wrapped in a choice of Passion Red, Ebony, or Candy Thunder Blue, the new ZX-14 makes blending into the scenery nearly impossible. It accelerates with ease, handles with assurance, and exudes an aura unmatched by anything else on the street.

This most powerful of all Kawasaki-branded motorcycles was created to do everything right. Right from the beginning.

Its aerodynamics reminds users that Kawasaki is indeed an aircraft maker. The blending of form, power, and handling characteristics have delivered a debut unit that is so balanced in all aspects that the word—ultimate—seems barely adequate to describe it.

This all new in-line four has evolved from the Ninja ZX-12R and features a bore and stroke of 84 x 61mm packed into a purposefully designed compact outline that minimizes engine width, leaving it at virtually the same width as the 12R.

A twist of the throttle delivers a seamless spread of torque that is so linear, the “power band,” per se, ceases to exist. Riders will pay particular attention to the impressive response that kicks in once the motor exceeds 6,000 rpm. Those that have ridden this newest Kawasaki flagship marvel at the torque response that makes pulling away from a total stop in almost any gear a possibility.

The engine uses a secondary balancer to tame unwanted vibrations, and a direct-actuation shift lever is lighter than conventional linkage-type set-ups, offering a more direct feel for the rider.

The ZX-14’s chassis design is every bit the equal of its power plant. It is an advanced version of Kawasaki’s unique aluminum monocoque frame, lightweight and very strong. This sophisticated approach gives the ZX-14 a responsive handling quality and incredible highway stability. By utilizing this frame technology, engineers were able to concentrate on delivering, as mentioned, a very slim, compact package. Inherently more rigid than twin-spar frames, and with the engine rigid-mounted, the monocoque’s strength is greatly increased.

With the engine positioned forward in the frame, engineers were able to carefully select the wheelbase and front/rear wheel weight balance to achieve both high speed stability and responsive handling. The ZX-14 uses an inverted 43mm cartridge fork and new Uni-Trak® linkage rear suspension to complement the highly rigid frame, thus offering both great controllability at high speeds and superb road holding when sport riding on twisting hill roads.

Does this ultimate combination of engine performance and chassis design make the Kawasaki ZX-14 rider-friendly?

The engineers and designers sought to combine the utmost elements of today’s motorcycle technologies, yet still provide a package that is both approachable—and usable. The ZX-14 delivers seamless power, a smooth ride, and friendly ergonomics. Together, these characteristics are manifested in a ride that is surprisingly non-intimidating, yet still maintains the heart of the rebel so much a part of Kawasaki’s brand heritage.

Offering a very relaxed sport riding position, it is compact without being cramped, and the bars are positioned so riders don’t have to stretch to reach them. The narrow engine, monocoque frame, and fuel tank make it easy for the rider to keep his knees close together in any riding conditions. Footpegs are low-set to give ample legroom and the low seat height and narrow seat front make planting feet on the ground when stopped a cinch.

And when the rider is stopped, the motorcycle will be the center of attention. Because the monocoque frame goes over the engine and doesn’t protrude through the fairing, the fairing design lines are uninterrupted, giving it a smooth, flowing appearance, from front to rear. Quadruple projector beam headlights adorn the ZX-14’s front cowl, with the outer lights containing position lamps and high beams. Low beams are located in the two center lamps. The front and rear turn signals are integrated into the fairing and rear cowl, and the all new LED tail lamp features a unique “V” design.

Other key features of the Kawasaki ZX-14:
- Instrument cluster with easy-to-read, white-faced dual analogue speedometer and tachometer.
- Shift indicator light and clutch engagement light.
- Multi-function LCD digital display includes fuel gauge, gear indicator, dual trip meters, odometer, and clock.
- Large diameter petal brake discs, radial mount front calipers and a radial pump brake master cylinder for impressive braking performance and superb feel.
- Hydraulically operated clutch features a radial mount clutch master cylinder for worry-free, silky smooth clutch operation.
- Fuel tank features a flush-surface tank cap.
- Idling speed control system contributes to easy starting capability.
- Lightweight Denso radiator with high-density cores provides efficient cooling.
- Massive head pipe casting contributes to frame rigidity.
- Airbox located in the frame, contributing to a very compact layout.
- Engine and chassis components designed to maximize mass centralization.
- Newly designed wheels feature center ribs which are slightly offset so that tire balance weights can be located at the wheel centerline.

All told, Kawasaki has once again brought its engineering and design expertise to the forefront of motorcycle creation. The Ninja ZX-14 lives up to its predecessors, and far surpasses them, as the meaning of the word “ultimate” has found a new definition.

Features:

Key Features:
- Distinctive Ninja® Styling
- Most Powerful Production Kawasaki Engine
- Next Generation Monocoque Aluminum Frame
- Comfortable Riding Position
1,352cc Four-Cylinder, DOHC(KP) Engine
- The most powerful production Kawasaki motorcycle engine ever.
- Tuned to provide smooth power across a very wide rev range while raising the legendary Kawasaki horsepower standards to a new level.
- Carefully planned engine design keeps it compact and narrow.
- Chrome composite plated(KP) aluminum cylinder bores are lightweight, durable, and quickly carry heat away from the combustion chamber and piston for supreme durability at high power outputs.
Gear-Driven Dual Engine Balancers(KP)
- Already in perfect primary balance, dual secondary balancers virtually eliminate unwanted vibrations for extremely smooth engine operation and rider support.
Ram Air Induction(KP)
- Central Ram Air duct produces a straighter path to the airbox for maximum intake efficiency. Similar inlet design to the Ninja ZX-6R and ZX-10R gives the ZX-14 consistent Kawasaki Ninja styling.
- This system takes cooler, high-pressure air from in front of the fairing and guides it through the air cleaner and into the engine for maximum power output.
Digital Fuel Injection(KP)
- 44mm Mikuni throttle bodies are fitted with sub-throttle valves(KP) that are controlled by the ECU to provide precise response and make DFI performance smoother, with response similar to constant velocity carburetors.
- 32-bit electronic control unit works with dual throttle valve system to further enhance throttle response and control.
- A digital computer feeds the engine exactly the amount of fuel it needs for cleaner emissions and maximum fuel economy.
Digital Ignition
- Digital Timing Advance enhances low-and mid-range power.
- Four individual spark plug-mounted ignition coils fire each spark plug independently to achieve the optimum timing for that cylinder at that instant.
Radial Pump Clutch
- Hydraulic clutch features a radial-mount clutch master cylinder for very smooth clutch operation.
Next-Generation Monocoque Aluminum Frame(KP)
- Evolved from the ZX-12R, the frame is a hollow aluminum box that arches over the engine from the steering head to the swing arm pivot. It is narrow, strong, rigid and very light.
- Engine is rigidly mounted to increase the monocoque’s torsional rigidity. Plus using the engine as a stressed frame member decreases the frame’s weight by approximately four pounds.
- Engine positioned forward in the frame, wheelbase and front/rear weight balance were carefully designed to achieve high-speed stability and responsive handling.
- The monocoque section houses the air box and air filter in a space-saving design that actually simplifies air cleaner maintenance. Two screws hold a plate on the left side of the frame that allows air cleaner access.
- The battery is also housed within the frame and has simple access through the back side of the frame.
- The steering head and swing arm pivot areas are cast aluminum for superior strength and rigidity.
Inverted 43mm Cartridge Type Front Fork(KP)
- Damping rates offer stiff initial action to resist front-end dive when braking.
- Stepless damping adjustment improves suspension performance.
Bottom-Link Uni-Track® Rear Suspension(KP)
- Linkage rates provide linear suspension action.
- The bottom-link design concentrates the weight lower in the chassis for a lower center of gravity, which makes the bike more flickable.
Radial Mounted Petal Front Disc Brakes
- Radial mounted 4-piston front brake calipers. Instead of mounting the calipers with threaded tabs cast near the top of the caliper, the radial design utilizes integrated mounting points at both the top and bottom of the caliper, with the mounting bolts inserted through the rear of the caliper instead of the side/front. This makes the caliper more rigid, which improves brake feel over a wider range of operation.
- A separate brake pad is used for each piston. One large pad can deform with the heat generated by hard track style riding, resulting in a loss of brake feel at the lever. Individual pads provide increased cooling efficiency and can absorb more heat without deforming so they maintain consistent brake feel lap after lap.
- Petal design brake discs provide better cooling and warp resistance.
- Radial-pump front brake master cylinder improves brake performance and lever feel.
Wind Tunnel-Designed Bodywork
- Since the monocoque frame goes over the engine the fairing is uninterrupted by protruding frame spars, adding to the extremely long and low styling. Both the front and rear turn signals are integrated into the bodywork and have clear lenses to enhance the appearance.
- Quadruple projector beam headlights give the ZX-14 a distinctive nose. The outer lights contain position lamps and the high beams, while the low beams are in the center lamps.
Full Instrumentation
- Dual analog speedometer and tachometer with white faces are easy to read.
- Multi-function LCD digital display includes an odometer, two trip meters, gear position indicator and a clock.
- Programmable shift indicator lamp illuminates at pre-set rpm to signal rider upshift.
- Programmable clutch engagement lamp illuminates at pre-set rpm to signal the rider to engage the clutch.
- A CAN (Controller Area Network) interface between the meter uses fewer wires while allowing a greater volume of information, such as estimated fuel mileage, to be exchanged.

KAWASAKI’S 2006 NINJA® ZX™-10R: A LESSON THAT PROVES THE BEST CAN ALWAYS BE BETTER

Engineers and designers pull out all of the stops in keeping this award winner at the top of the class.

Few would have thought Kawasaki engineers would tamper with the success enjoyed by its NINJA® ZX™-10R sportbike over the past two years. Having been named by Cycle World as the Best Superbike of both 2004 and 2005, it would have been easily accepted by the most hardcore of racetrack motorcyclists if Kawasaki had simply rested on its laurels. But, in a move intended to show the brand’s very serious and ongoing commitment to building the most potent motorcycles available, Kawasaki has taken it up another notch with the introduction of this latest version of the NINJA ZX-10R.

Designed for the rider who feels at home in racing leathers, the new liter-class Kawasaki is being brought to market with a complete engine, chassis and aerodynamic makeover, maintaining its top-of-class dominance, whether on the street or racetrack.

It features all new power characteristics, highlighted by a new fuel injection system featuring ultra-fine atomizing injectors to work with the 43mm throttle bodies and dual throttle valves. Providing a noticeable boost in mid-range power, the new ZX-10R’s power delivery is also more linear, and its off-corner acceleration capability will satisfy the most demanding of riders. Also contributing to the smoother power delivery is the addition of a heavier flywheel, and high-speed generator moved to the end of the crankshaft. Shifting gears while handling the bike’s awesome power output is simplified by improvements to the shift linkage, resulting in smooth, almost effortless transitions.

By repositioning the ZX-10R’s center of gravity, Kawasaki engineers have bettered an already superb handling motorcycle. The new frame also features revised stiffness balance, new motor mounts, more centralized mass, and a relocated swingarm pivot, coupled with a racing-spec Öhlins steering damper. All told, a track-ready handler that is destined to surprise all who put it through its paces.

Combining a short wheelbase with a long swingarm gives the ZX-10R the type of track maneuverability that speaks to its nimble, yet stable handling performance. And even more to the liking of experienced racers, the tucked-in position made so comfortable by the NINJA’s concave tank top and the relationship between pegs, handlebar, and seat, only magnifies its appropriateness for the track.

How to package all of this potency into a look that yells—virtually screams—aggressive race-readiness was a question Kawasaki’s design team approached seriously.

Aerodynamic performance quickly became the key to their search for a style befitting this new ZX-10R. Possessing an abundance of power, handling, and performance characteristics, the “look” of the motorcycle need only compliment its core consumer values. The designers focused on a no-frills approach to delivering an experience that significantly improves aerodynamics with a new fairing, seat cowl, and dual under-seat exhaust system. While the most noticeable effect of this new look is found at the high end of the speedometer, it succeeds in appearing fast, even when sitting still.

- Incredible Power-to-Weight Ratio
- Race-Oriented Performance
- Track-Tuned Handling
- Aggressive New Aerodynamic Styling
998cc 4-Cylinder, DOHC Engine
- Very compact, narrow and lightweight design.
- The upper crankcase and cylinder are a one-piece casting, which is more than two pounds lighter than using a separate cylinder and offers increased rigidity. A slanted casting process rotates the piece during casting to eliminate imperfections and excess casting material.
- Channels in the case mounting surfaces route oil to various parts of the engine, eliminating oil lines and saving weight.
- Crank axis, input shaft and output shaft create a stacked triangular layout that is compact, reduces engine length and lowers the center of gravity.
- Specially-shaped breathing passageways between the chrome composite plated aluminum cylinders reduce pumping loss to help increase power.
- A high-efficiency, liquid-cooled aluminum oil cooler uses specially designed internal fins to dissipate heat and cool the oil.
4-Valve Cylinder Head(KP)
- Compact valve train reduces cylinder head height.
- Intake ports and coolant passages developed using flow analysis for efficient cylinder filling and more power, and maximum cooling efficiency.
- Camshafts are carved from forged chromoly billet, which is more than one-half pound lighter than cast cams. The cams and tappets are treated with soft nitriding to prevent galling and seizing with the aggressive, high lift profiles.
- Single valve springs with oval cross sections are light and lower to reduce overall cylinder head height.
- Forged sintered aluminum spring retainers are half the weight of steel retainers and allow higher rpm.
Piston
- Forged Pistons(KP) are lighter, stronger and more heat resistant than cast versions. Flat-top design matches the compact combustion chamber and improves combustion efficiency.
Ram Air Induction(KP)
- Central ram air duct produces a straighter path to the airbox for maximum intake efficiency and provides the mounting surface for the instrument panel, eliminating brackets and weight.
- Flow analysis used to design efficient ducts to the airbox that also prevent water from reaching the air filter.
- Compact airbox and air cleaner are highly efficient and contribute to the compact riding position.
- High speed 32-bit ECU provides precise engine management.
TCBI Ignition with Digital Advance(KP)
- High-speed processor provides precise engine management.
- Spark plug-mounted ignition coils are compact and help reduce weight.
Titanium Exhaust With Butterfly Valve

- Butterfly valve, located before the exhaust splits to the mufflers, is controlled by rpm, throttle position and gear position to improve low-end response and help smooth overall power. Optimum exhaust tuning is attained at all engine speeds to prevent blowback that can occur with high speed overlapping valve timing.
6-Speed Transmission
- The splines on the transmission shafts are barrel ground so the gears slide smoothly for improved shift action.
- Close ratio transmission increases circuit performance.
- A back-torque limiting clutch(KP) automatically disengages the clutch under hard braking and deceleration to prevent rear wheel hop during corner entry. Optional springs, spring retainers and shims are available to fine-tune the clutch for specific conditions.
Aluminum Twin Spar Backbone Frame
- Combination of pressed and cast aluminum components are welded to form the twin-spar backbone-type frame. By combining cast and pressed pieces frame weight is kept to a minimum while still providing high strength and stability with responsive handling.
- Twin-spar backbone design provides 600cc class width.
Uni-Track® Rear Suspension(KP)
- Short, compact frame allows the swingarm to be longer, which makes it easier to control rear wheel powerslides.
- Rear shock is fully adjustable for preload, compression and rebound damping. Ride height can be adjusted by adding /removing optional 1mm shims at the upper shock mount.
- Equipped with top-out spring that allows the rear wheel to better follow the road surface when the rear end is light due to hard braking.
- Small piggyback shock reservoir is designed to save weight.
43mm Inverted Cartridge Front Fork(KP)
- Kayaba 43mm inverted cartridge fork provides exceptional rigidity.
- Equipped with top-out springs which allow the front wheel to better follow the road surface when the front end is light due to hard acceleration.
- Stiff settings suitable for track use.
- Fully adjustable for preload, compression and rebound damping.
Aluminum Wheels
- Six-spoke cast aluminum wheels are practically as light as race-specific wheels. The six-spoke design requires much less material between spokes so that rim thickness is thinner and lighter.
Radial Mounted Front Disc Brakes
- Radial mounted 4-piston front brake calipers. Instead of mounting the calipers with threaded tabs cast near the top of the caliper, the radial design utilizes integrated mounting points at both the top and bottom of the caliper, with the mounting bolts inserted through the rear of the caliper instead of the side/front. This makes the caliper more rigid, which improves brake feel over a wider range of operation.
- A separate brake pad is used for each piston. One large pad tends to deform with the heat generated by hard track style riding, resulting in a loss of brake feel at the lever. Individual pads provide increased cooling efficiency and can absorb more heat without deforming so they maintain consistent brake feel lap after lap.
Petal Design Brake Discs
- Improved cooling and warp resistance.
- First petal-type discs to come standard on a supersport machine.
Aerodynamic Bodywork
- The fuel tank has a unique concave top that allows the rider to tuck in further and improve aerodynamics.
- Three-piece front fender designed for aero efficiency.
- Different color panels create a sporty, aggressive image.
Advanced Electronic Instrumentation
- Multifunction odometer, tripmeter, clock and lap timer/stopwatch.

KAWASAKI’S NINJA® ZX™-6RR GROOMED FOR THE TRACK

2005 AMA Supersport Champion

Finding its way to the winner’s circle is what this motorcycle is all about. The 2006 Ninja® ZX™-6RR, the racing-homologated sibling of the Ninja ZX-6R, was designed for serious on-track performance, and it takes its charge very seriously.

The Ninja ZX-6RR features ultra-aerodynamic bodywork with Ram Air, GP-style swingarm, under-seat exhaust system, six-spoke wheels, petal-style disc brakes, inverted forks and a powerful engine.

Leading-Edge Style

Along with the ZX-6R, the Ninja ZX-6RR is one of the most aerodynamically efficient sportbikes Kawasaki has ever created. Specifically, the fairing helps to divide the air stream farther ahead of the bike; by moving the “bubble” of still air farther forward in the cockpit, the rider experiences less buffeting around the head and shoulders.

The point of convergence – where the divided air streams comes together behind the rider – is critical to aerodynamic efficiency, so Kawasaki engineers designed the tail section to smoothly blend the air together while minimizing turbulence. The result is quicker roll-on acceleration and higher top speeds at the race track, as well as enhanced rider comfort and control.

The body work also includes a central Ram Air duct and a flush-surface LED tail light, as well as an aerodynamic front fender.

From the cockpit, the Ninja ZX-6RR rider will notice several leading-edge features that put this bike at the forefront of design and performance. Foremost is the split-seam fuel tank/airbox cover. The rear half is the actual fuel tank, designed to fit neatly between the frame spars and down behind the engine’s fuel injection system, while the front half covers a quick-access air box. By centralizing the fuel mass near the center of the bike, chassis responsiveness is enhanced – weight transfers from turn to turn are lighter, and the chassis is exceptionally stable under acceleration and braking.

The advanced split-seam design also enabled engineers to make the airbox larger, thus enhancing engine performance. It also makes filter access quick and easy. Plus, a depression in the top of the fuel tank enables the rider to tuck in for improved aerodynamics.

The final tribute to aerodynamic efficiency is the under-seat muffler, which gives the Ninja ZX-6RR a slim, racy look.

Exhilarating Power and Performance

No sportbike can garner mass approval on good looks alone, and here again, the Ninja ZX-6RR sets the standards of performance for the middle-weight class. The engine includes a fuel injection system with 38mm oval-shaped sub-throttle valves fed by twin injectors and Ram Air.

The Ninja ZX-6RR utilizes oval-shaped sub-throttle technology. Combined with the Ram Air design, the oval-shaped throttle bodies increase airflow without making the fuel delivery assembly wider – for maximum intake efficiency while helping to maintain a slim chassis profile.

The 599cc engine also features polished intake ports and large exhaust valves for improved on-track performance.

Also, the engine control (ECU) unit has enough memory for controlling the exhaust valve and second set of fuel injectors.
The Ninja ZX-6RR features a durable, close ratio, smooth-shifting six-speed transmission, with ratios similar to those of the previous racing kit transmission. It also utilizes a back-torque limiting clutch. Designed to maximize on-track performance, the back-torque limiter helps to reduce rear-wheel hop that may occur when downshifting at high-rpm.

Chassis Features

The matte-black aluminum frame features a short wheelbase, and combined with a long, braced aluminum swingarm, to give the Ninja ZX-6RR superior cornering performance and stability. The chassis also includes a steering damper boss on the left frame rail.

The fully adjustable Showa fork delivers outstanding cornering performance and includes TiSiCN coating on the inner tubes to reduce stiction. At the rear, the UNI-TRAK® linkage ratios provide linear action and the shock settings further enhance ride quality and track performance.

Radial-mounted, four-piston front brake calipers deliver exceptional feel and performance; four independent brake pads are used – one for each piston – for more even wear and improved heat resistance. The 300mm petal-style front discs are 5.5mm thick for high heat capacity and the front brake master cylinder uses direct action for better rider feedback. Also, the caliper for the 220mm rear disc brake mounts directly to the swingarm, negating the need for an independent brake tie-rod. The NINJA ZX-6RR has the added benefit of low-expansion brake hoses for improved brake feel.

Features:

- Designed for number one performance on the circuit and winding roads
- Polished intake ports, porting, combustion chambers and large exhaust valves, plus racing cams, all contribute to increased performance
- Power boosting features includes oval-shaped sub-throttles and dual injectors
- Exhaust valve integral with the under-seat muffler improves low- and mid-range engine performance
- State of the art aerodynamics give this middle-weight SuperSport superb CdA
- Back-torque limiting clutch is standard
- Frame and swingarm combined with chassis dimensions improve cornering performance
- 300mm petal-style front disc brakes with radial-mount calipers and direct-action brake master cylinder provide excellent performance and feel
- Riding position lets the rider take advantage of the awesome performance
- To suit non-modified stock racing classes, the six-speed transmission features close ratios similar to those of the racing kit transmission
- Inner fork tubes feature a TiSiCN coating to reduce stiction and improve suspension action
- Damping valve for the rear shock offers a wide range of settings for racing
- Steering damper boss provided on the left frame rail
